Pay attention to the clean water crisis

  • 人口增长与城市化,加大了水资源需求;
  • 气候变化与污染问题,导致水质恶化;

Clean water is not just a resource—it is a fundamental human right, the cornerstone of public health, and a prerequisite for sustainable development.
However, the clean water crisis is intensifying, driven mainly by:

  • Population growth and urbanization, which increase water demand;
  • Climate change and pollution, which degrade water quality;
  • Infrastructure gaps, making safe water supply difficult to guarantee.

Unsafe water sources are not only carriers of diseases such as cholera, dysentery, and typhoid, but also directly affect daily food preparation and cooking safety, threatening everyone’s health. At the same time, emerging pollutants like microplastics and PFAS (“forever chemicals”) are infiltrating even treated water, posing long-term risks.

Water scarcity also severely impacts ecosystems: rivers dry up, wetlands shrink, biodiversity suffers, and excessive groundwater extraction leads to land subsidence and seawater intrusion.

The clean water crisis is not confined to distant places—it is a global issue that affects every aspect of life.
Solving this problem requires joint efforts from governments, industries, communities, and individuals. Water is life, and protecting water resources is one of the most urgent tasks of our generation.

Mental Sub‑Health: The  Hidden Crisis of Contemporary Life and the Road to Self-Repair.

In today’s world, the concept of “physical sub‑health” has become widely recognized. Yet more subtle, more hidden, and far more widespread is another condition—mental sub‑health. It shows no obvious physical symptoms, but quietly affects our emotions, relationships, decisions, and overall quality of life. In severe cases, it may even develop into serious psychological crises.

🌱 1. Mental Sub‑Health: A Shared Symptom of Our Era

Information overload, accelerating pace, and increasing competition have pushed modern people’s psychological load far beyond what our minds were originally designed to handle. Many appear busy, energetic, and socially active, yet internally they live with:

• Persistent anxiety and tension

• Unexplained fatigue and emptiness

• A sense of uncertainty and loss of control

• Doubts about self‑worth

• Suppressed or avoided emotions

These conditions may not qualify as clinical disorders, but they are enough to erode one’s sense of direction and happiness. Like an undercurrent, they quietly destabilize the inner world.

🌱 2. Entertainment as the “Psychological Anesthetic” of Our Time

The noise and entertainment of modern society offer the quickest way to cover up mental sub‑health. Short videos, games, social media, consumerism—they provide instant pleasure, yet cannot fill the deeper void.

The more confused people feel, the more stimulation they seek.

The more pain they carry, the more they want to escape.

But escape does not heal. It only allows the wound to grow in the dark.

🌱 3. The Root of Mental Sub‑Health: Misidentification and Inner Loss

Behind many psychological struggles lies not the event itself, but our mistaken perceptions of ourselves and the world:

• Mistaking external achievements for self‑worth

• Mistaking temporary emotions for absolute reality

• Mistaking others’ evaluations for life’s direction

• Mistaking desire for the source of happiness

When we do not know “Who am I?” or “What am I living for?”, the mind naturally falls into confusion and exhaustion.

🌱 4. The Path of Healing: Turning from Outward Seeking to Inner Awareness

Paying attention to mental sub‑health does not mean withdrawing from life. It means learning to care for ourselves within life. The following approaches can gradually restore inner balance:

1. Notice emotions instead of suppressing them

Emotions are not enemies—they are signals.

Listening to them is the beginning of healing.

2. Reduce mental noise and create inner space

Step back from phones and social media when possible.

Silence is nourishment for the mind.

3. Build a stable daily rhythm

Regular sleep, moderate exercise, and simple eating habits

provide essential support for mental well‑being.

4. Stay connected with trustworthy people

Real relationships help us feel seen and understood,

rather than judged or compared.

5. Learn methods of inner observation

Whether through Buddhist mindfulness, psychological awareness, journaling, or meditation,

these tools help us rediscover ourselves.

🌱 5. Let the Mind Become Soft Yet Strong Again

Mental sub‑health is not frightening.

What is frightening is ignoring it.

When we are willing to pause, to face the fog within, and to rediscover who we are,

the mind gradually regains its clarity, softness, and strength.

Caring for the mind is both a responsibility and a form of tenderness.

It allows us to stop being pushed by life and instead take hold of our own direction.
